Safeguarding Statement

Simplified Support Ltd works directly with parents and carers about children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. Keeping those children safe matters more than anything else we do.

What we are, and what we are not

We are an independent support service. We are not a school, a local authority, a health service or a statutory safeguarding body, and we do not carry out assessments or investigations. We do not provide an emergency or out-of-hours service.

If a child is in immediate danger, call 999. If you are worried about a child but it is not an emergency, contact your local authority children’s services, or the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000.

Our commitments

• We treat what you tell us about your child with care and confidentiality.
• Everything you send is stored securely and is seen only by Jess, who provides the support personally.
• We listen without judgement, and we take concerns about a child seriously.
• We do not make automated decisions about you or your child.

When we may share information without your consent

We will normally only share information about you or your child with your agreement. However, we may share information without your consent — and without telling you first, if telling you would increase the risk — where we reasonably believe that:

• a child or adult is at risk of significant harm, abuse or neglect;
• there is a risk to someone’s life or of serious injury;
• someone has disclosed an intention to seriously harm themselves or another person; or
• we are required to share the information by law, a court order, or the police.

In those situations we may pass information to the relevant local authority children’s services team, the police, or emergency services. We will share only what is necessary and proportionate, and we will make a written record of what we shared, with whom and why. Where it is safe and appropriate to do so, we will tell you what we have done.

Under UK GDPR this sharing relies on our legal obligations and on protecting someone’s vital interests, so your consent is not required for it. You can read more in our Privacy Notice.

Raising a safeguarding concern with us

If you want to raise a concern about the safety of a child in connection with our service, email Jessica@SimplifiedSupport.co.uk or call 0330 043 0263. Please do not use this route in an emergency — call 999 instead. We aim to respond to safeguarding contact within one working day.

Concerns about us

If you are worried about the conduct of anyone working for Simplified Support Ltd, please tell us through our complaints process. You can also contact your local authority’s designated officer, or the police.

Review

This statement is reviewed at least once a year, and sooner if our services or the law change.
