Privacy Policy
Simplified Support is the data controller for information you send through Book Simplified Support. We know that information about your child is sensitive, and we only ask for what we genuinely need to deliver the service you have purchased.
What we collect
- Your name and email address
- Your child’s first name, age and Local Authority
- What you tell us about your situation and your question
- Any documents you choose to upload
- Payment confirmation from Stripe (never your card details)
Why we hold it
We use this information to provide the support you have bought, to contact you about it, and to keep proper records of the work we have done. Our lawful bases are performance of a contract and, for information about health or additional needs, your explicit consent, which you give with the tick box before you submit.
How it is stored
Submissions and documents are held in encrypted storage. Uploaded documents are private and are never published or made publicly accessible. Only Simplified Support staff who need to see them can access them, through a password-protected administrator area.
Sharing
We do not sell your information and we do not share it with your school or Local Authority unless you ask us to and we agree separately. We use trusted processors to run the service: Stripe for payment, and our hosting and database provider for secure storage and email.
How long we keep it
We keep records of completed work for up to 6 years so that we can answer questions about advice we have given. You can ask us to delete uploaded documents sooner.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent. Contact us and we will respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Book Simplified Support is bought by parents and carers. We ask for a child’s first name and age only, not a full identity, unless a document you choose to upload contains more.
